Pirates don't get terribly good representation in games. You're more likely to find a solid title featuring a ninja or an Italian plumber than you are to find a fantastic pirate as the star. There are some notable exceptions to this including Escape from Monkey Island, but that is by no means the rule.
Risen 2 hopes to break that trend. This sequel to the 2009 game begins in the city of Caldera and continues the adventure of the Nameless Hero from the previous story. This trailer gives us a good glimpse of the world without hope. While Risen might not have been the best game, hopefully this new title will be an improvement. If nothing else, the cinematic trailer sure looks awesome.
Risen 2: Dark Waters was developed by Piranha Bytes and published by Deep Silver. It will release for the PC on April 27, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 July 31.
